Ok, so I overslept today - was really tired. Woke up with a sore throat which eventually went away. For those two reasons I decided to skip my ride today. I did go outside and put up the rest of my Christmas decorations then took my dog for a walk. I also decided to spend more money on me! If I can keep my feet warm, I'm willing to ride all winter. I've tried various layers and types of socks and shoe covers between last winter and thusfar this year. I decided to just bite the bullet and invest in some winter riding shoes. Now I know people like
Michigan and her friend
Oldmanandhisbike, who's blog I also follow are probably laughing their asses off at me. The Virginia girl has to buy shoes to tolerate the mild winter here. Sorry folks, but I get cold feet in the middle of the summer. It's horrible and alters my mood substantially. I've discovered marvelously warm Gore Windstopper Gloves and Jackets that keep me cozy, so now I've got a new item on the way.
Pearl Izumi Barrier GTX. We shall see how they work out for my pedal popsicles.

Hope these work for you... my extremities get cold even in the summertime... I'm a sock wearing girl year round... good luck with the new purchase!
Hey I won't be giving you any slack, I've been using my boots since October. They do a much better job of keeping my feet warm and dry than shoes and booties.
Spiffy-looking boots! Now if we can just keep the wet weather at bay...
I'm gonna start riding the Cove (daytime, when it's as warm as it's gonna get) again soon. I gotta do something- indoors at the gym is killing me!
I wouldn't say that my "ass off" but I did get a smile out of your booties! :^)
Just kidding. They look very warm and I could have used them big time yesterday. Check out my muddy race blog when you get a chance!
Stay warm!
Nice I hadn’t seen those new P.I. shoes yet. I finally broke down last winter and bought some way too expensive Lake winter books. I then managed to destroy them in a month. After some failed warranty work and plenty of Shoe Goo and Gorilla Snot I’ve got them pretty much back in business. Even busted those shoes are the warmest nicest MTB shoes that I’ve ever owned. You should look into some DeFeet Blaze or Woolie Bollie (or Bullie) socks. They are the best.
Let us know how those shoes work.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Peace,
Metro
oooohh I'm jealous...I asked Santa for a pair but he's a little tight on cash. Someday
