Last night, Copper got it's first taste of Carvin's Cove dirt. It got plenty; we need rain so bad! So tackling a single speed at the Cove wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. We ended up riding about 10.5 miles. I think the hardest part for me was Arrowhead. I guess because it was about the only climbing we did. We rode it "backwards" - meaning from the end closest to the boat dock back towards Bennett Springs. I got messed up on the initial climb and had to walk a short distance to a flatter area so that I could get rolling again. I had to walk a few more times out of three crossings (rode one) and also on a uphill that I just couldn't get a decent line on. I will definitely be riding the SS some more. Meanwhile, Ritchey is back home. Looking spiffy as usual. I love that bike! It's all tuned up (again) - new chain, working front shock lock out, stiffened up rear suspension and a new front derailler cable. YAY! Planning to take him out and about on Sunday. Route to be determined.
Oh yea, my legs were definitely feeling the SS ride this morning. My calves were mooing and my hamstrings and quads were sore. HMMMM, more leg days at the gym and lookout world, here I come!!!
HAPPY WEEKEND everyone!!! HAVE FUN, play safe!
