Project number two: As you recall, my trees were toppled in a bad storm a while back so my front yard is barren. It looks even worse right now because the grass is dead. What didn't die when the trees fell is now pretty much cooked by the lack of rain. Anyway, I had found this plant stand while at Kohl's in Lynchburg in the spring, but it was way too expensive. I happened upon it at a Kohl's in SC for half price and bought it. Well, I decided to put it together today. Of course, I had to go buy orange and maroon mum's for it. Hopefully no one steals this out of my front yard:

New tape, new flowers
I get nervous on my road bike. I had worn the right side of the handlebar tape out a bit and it was coming loose all around the hood. So I decided to replace my black bar tape. This is the result of my efforts. I think it looks pretty spiffy for the first time I've ever done this. I did mess up the left side a bit and will probably rewrap it after I buy some colored electrical tape. =) This was just one of many things I found myself doing today.

OK, now I'm jealous. That bike planter rocks! Did you stake it down real well? Seriously, there are some idiots in this valley that would take it in a heartbeat. Which bugs me because I'd like to put out lots of Halloween decorations and I just don't want to have them stolen (Halloween is my favorite holiday!).
Anyway, the new bar tape looks nice and girly! I'd put it on my bike, but I'm ready a guy in spandex. No need to further piss-off the rednecks in the valley :-)
Ohh, I love the planter. That is seriously cool.
Definitely almost bought that same planter at Khol's last week.
